Tolerance Analysis of Cyber-Manufacturing Systems to Cascading Failures

چکیده
In practical cyber-manufacturing systems (CMS), the node component is forwarder of information and provider services. This dual role makes whole system have typical physical-services interaction characteristic, making CMS more vulnerable to cascading failures than general manufacturing systems. this work, in order reasonably characterize process CMS, we first develop an interdependent network model for from a physical-service networking perspective. On basis, realistic failure designed with full consideration routing-oriented load distribution characteristics physical selective service network. Through extensive experiments, soundness proposed has been verified some meaningful findings obtained: 1) attacks on are likely trigger may cause damage; 2) interdependency main performance degradation during failures; 3) isolation failures. The obtained results can certainly help users design reliable against

Visualizing Cascading Failures in Critical Cyber Infrastructures
This paper explores the relationship between physical and cyber infrastructures, focusing on how threats and disruptions in physical infrastructures can cascade into failures in the cyber infrastructure. It also examines the challenges involved in organizing and managing massive amounts of critical infrastructure data that are geographically and logically disparate. To address these challenges,...
متن کاملModell reduction for analysis of cascading failures in power systems
In this paper, we apply a principal-orthogonal decomposition based method to the model reduction of a hybrid, nonlinear model of a power network. The results demonstrate that the sequence of fault events can be evaluated and predicted without necessarily simulating the whole system.

متن کاملAnalysis of Cascading Failures in Power Networks
This thesis studies the characteristics of cascading failures in a simulated linear swingequation model for simple power networks. The model transitions from displaying only small average failure size to undergoing large average failure size as the loading of the system is increased. For some parameter values, the transition region becomes critical, and it exhibits failures of all sizes whose d...
متن کاملHandling Cascading Failures: The Case for Topology-Aware Fault-Tolerance
Large distributed systems contain multiple components that can interact in sometimes unforeseen and complicated ways; this emergent “vulnerability of complexity” increases the likelihood of cascading failures that might result in widespread disruption. Our research explores whether we can exploit the knowledge of the system’s topology, the application’s interconnections and the application’s no...
